Letter to the Kitty Dumper

Dear Person Who Left the Orange Kittens,

Thank you so much for the gift of two orange kittens. I have always wanted an orange cat, but would never have chosen to adopt one when I have 9 other feline mouths to feed, vaccinate, neuter, and love. Nevertheless, she looks beautiful with our four black, two black and white, one gray and white, and one gray and black.

I do have one tiny problem. Next time you feel the need for someone else to take responsibility for your failure to neuter your cat, please pull a little farther into the driveway to make your deposit. Scraping this little kitten's brother or sister off the highway is not something I want to repeat any time soon.

Best regards,
Wisteria

awwww, at least yours is just a kitty. I have a mama ready to pop, she showed up on my deck a few days ago. Pretty girl, but only one eye. She can't tell me what happened to the other one, or how she got here, or when she's due (soon). Then there are the three, no, four kittens that came over the summer, and the 3 we gave away. None of them healthy when they got here, just about healthy now, and of course, I'm attached. Tiny, Emma, Little Al, and Pookie. Oh well, what's a few more when we already had 4? I should be thankful. My neighbors found a horse tied to their gate a few weeks ago, with a note that said his mom couldn't afford to feed him. They're keeping him too.

I'm so sorry you had to find the brother that way, but I'm glad she found you, since you will take care of her..we just adopted a little boy
orange cat last week from a lady who couldn't keep one more.
He is only the second in our house right now..and goes well with the fishies and bunny that thinks it's a pet in the backyard.

Doc, If I had someone dump a one eyed cat that was about to spring a litter of kittens on my porch, I'm not so sure I would be as forgiving. We got seven kittens this summer, too, but were able to find good homes for three. A horse? They are expensive to feed, but couldn't they just sell it? I'm feeling very lucky at this moment.

Kate, Your orange cat is precious and so friendly looking. This one is still afraid, but is warming up to me.

What a lovely kitty, and what an ignoramus to just drop and run. How lucky for this little one to be rescued in time!

A horse??!! I guess I should be happy to just pick up stray dogs in heat!

::Squelching string of expletives for the kitty dumper...

Someone told me once that before a new kitty will warm up to new humans, she will need to befriend all of the other pets, first. Don't know if that's true or not, but thought I'd pass it along.

I have never met an orange cat I didn't like. This one looks especially sweet.

What a darling baby! My kids would love another cat, but I'm not sure how quick Ed will be to invite the next stray in -- fixing up animals is expensive. I am always amazed at how many people don't bother to have their pets spayed/neutered.
